NASHVILLE — The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Carry Forward 5K in-person event in Nashville on September 19 is shifting to a virtual experience.
IMPORTANT DETAILS AT A GLANCE
SAME event date: Saturday, September 19
NEW location: Wherever YOU are comfortable doing a 5K — your neighborhood, your treadmill, your favorite route or trail. You could even just count 7,000 steps by your phone! Most importantly, know you’re participating virtually alongside wounded warriors and WWP supporters in the Nashville community — together!
SAME cause: To continue to put the WWP mission of honoring and empowering wounded warriors in motion!
There are three special ways to show your support while you run or walk at Carry Forward:
- Carry a flag to show support and patriotism
- Carry a weight to represent the responsibilities veterans carry
- Carry another person to symbolize one warrior carrying another.
No matter which activity you choose, every step you take will empower wounded warriors as they take on their next mission.
HOW A VIRTUAL 5K WORKS
REGISTER AND PLAN: Decide if you want to organize your 5K as a solo run/walk or with friends and family (6 feet apart, of course!), and ensure everyone registers. Plan out your 5K details including your location and fundraising goal.
