NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans and Ashley HomeStore recently teamed up to donate several pieces of furniture to GraceWorks Ministries and Friendship Community Church.
The furniture was previously displayed in the club levels of Nissan Stadium as part of the team’s partnership with Ashley HomeStore. As Nissan Stadium adapts to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the furniture was removed to limit high-touch surfaces and discourage people from different households congregating together.
Six sofas, two coffee tables and sofa pillows were donated to each organization.
“We are so thankful to our partners at Ashley HomeStore for helping us find deserving new homes for this furniture,” said Ralph Ockenfels, Titans Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. “GraceWorks Ministries and Friendship Community Church help so many families in our local community and we hope these pieces bring joy into a few of those households.”
Franklin-based GraceWorks Ministries is a community resource center providing food, rent and utility assistance, clothing, home goods and more to neighbors in need. The organization assisted over 10,000 people with these needs in its 2018-19 season. The Friendship Community Church, located in Old Hickory, operates a food bank and job center in addition to its other ministries.
“GraceWorks sold this beautiful furniture in our thrift store and made $4,800 to feed, house, and provide hope for our neighbors,” said Valencia A. Breckenridge, GraceWorks CEO. “Even more impressive, the promotion of this beautiful donation led to our highest sales day since the onset of COVID. Thank you!”
